The renowned Bungendore Wood Works Gallery exhibits and promotes Australian wood art, giftware, sculpture and contemporary furniture by the country’s foremost designers and makers in wood.
The gallery takes pride in the skill and art of Australia’s craftspeople and in the varied richness and beauty of native timbers. Collaborating with makers to design and develop new work ensures that the gallery remains a leader in woodcraft and studio furniture.
Located in the heart of the Bungendore village since its inception, the gallery was first established in the heritage-listed Bungendore Store building opposite the present-day site. This site was later designed by local architect Maurice Barnes, creating the perfect environment for exhibiting wood and other artworks.
The present gallery was built in 1994 from Australian materials including Jarrah posts, beams and staircase, Tasmanian Oak floors, Ebonised Victorian Ash Frames, and New South Wales Flooded Gum wall panelling.
Now in it’s 40th year, Bungendore Wood Works Gallery showcases an incredible range of fine furniture from cabinets, clocks, lighting and mirrors to desks, dining tables, hall tables, seating and much more.
In addition to the array of high quality wood art, the gallery also displays a wide variety of art in a multitude of mediums such as acrylic, watercolour, oil and wood marquetry.
